INCREASE YOUR ONLINE SALES – WITH YOUR BLOG

❏ Today, I’m speaking about increasing your online sales with your blog. Most of us know that writing blog posts helps our SEO. We know that having a better SEO ranking helps us sell more products. Buy how? We haven’t learned how to market our blog through social media to maximize its reach. Ready to learn how? Let’s get started!

As an executive coach, I help founders find the right help at the right time. Most early-stage businesses, what we call “build “stage businesses, have many serious challenges. One of these is what we call “discovery.”

Step 1: Setup All Your Social Media Accounts

Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, YouTube, Pinterest, Instagram, Tumblr, Flickr, Reddit, Snapchat, WhatsApp, Increase Your Online Sales With Your Blog, Vine, Periscope, BizSugar, StumbleUpon, Digg, Twitch, and Medium. These are the top 20 social media sites currently. Should your writing and images be on every one of the 20? Perhaps not, but why not? It’s hard to be 100% sure where you are likely to “strike gold” on followers. Set up accounts using your business name on all of them, begin posting to all of them, and track where your traffic comes from on each. After three months, if some social sites generate little or no traffic, it’s time to re-evaluate. Either your content could be more robust or more substantial, or folks on that site are not interested in your product. Cut out the non-performing websites and double down on those generating traffic.

Step 2: Choose Social Media Management Tools

Please post to each of these sites regularly for them to have any impact. For example, on Twitter, you should be posting 3+ times per day. On LinkedIn, at least once a week, but once a day is better. For Facebook, one to three times per day. Each site has an optimum number of posts per day or week. You can get my Social Media Posting Schedule Guide at a special price by clicking on this link. You can do this manually, but up to 20 sites, each with 1 to 10 postings per day, could be a better use of your time.

For Twitter, I use SocialOomph to create and manage all of my Twitter “tweets.” It’s simple to use, and an excellent Udemy training guide can teach you how to get the most out of it. The other tools you should check out are Buffer, Hootsuite, and Zoho Social. I recommend you try each using their free trials, then choose the one that works best for you at a price point that fits your budget.

Step 3: Create & Measure Social Media Campaigns

The final step to increasing your online sales with your blog is to create social media campaigns for each platform. Much of the content is shareable across platforms, with most of the work being in setting the image sizes correctly for each platform.

For your images, I go to https://images.google.com. Choose an image that is free to use and modify, even commercially, by setting a selector under Settings. I usually add text to the image to make it more custom in Google’s eyes for SEO. You don’t want to use an image precisely as it exists on thousands of other sites. Google looks for repeat images and will knock you down in your SEO ranking. Adding text makes your image custom—resize and crop as required for each social media platform.

Monitor your social media campaigns for effectiveness. If your campaign needs to get clicks, change things up! Could you change your title and try it again for a week or two? Are you still waiting for click improvement? Change your image. Experiment for a week or two. Would you still like to connect? Could you change your call-to-action wording? Bottom line: experiment. However, only change one thing at a time. If you edit multiple pieces of content, you risk making one change, better or worse. Patience is key.

The clicks will roll in when you hit the right combination of image, wording, and call to action. Don’t stop now. Get another product and another campaign created. You are building your Internet sales engine! Go at it with passion and perseverance to win!

I hope I have helped you increase your online sales through your blog. Following my advice, you’ll develop great campaigns across multiple social media platforms. The more money that rolls in, the more you invest in campaigns. Eventually, you’ll want to hire a part-time, then full-time, social media manager to create, manage, and report to you on all these campaigns.
